Dalbeattie Clinic has been a training practice for doctors on the GP VTS since 1973.
The current trainer is Dr Suzanne Christie and Dr James Clark-Maxwell is the co-trainer. In addition, trainees at both ST1 and ST3 level will have tutorials and surgery experience with both the other partners.
The placements start with a comprehensive induction period covering everything that is needed to function as a GP in Dalbeattie. Time is spent with the other clinical staff as well as staff in services allied to medicine and with the administration and management staff. Instruction is provided for the IT systems, the emergency equipment and all other procedures and processes in the practice.
Trainees are provided with a fully equiped consulting room and with an office which has computing and telephone services. A medical bag complete with examination equipment and emergency drugs is also provided.
Trainees are seen and treated as valued members of not only the practice team but the wider community.
We believe the training and oppourtunities in Dalbeattie are excellent and that any year in the practice and in the area will be an enjoyable one.
