Dalbeattie Clinic is registered as a training practice for undergraduate students mainly from the University of Glasgow but accepts students from all over the country. Indeed one or two students have even come from Imperial College, London!
Student accomodation is provided by the practice in a local 3 star bed and breakfast. For more information please click the button below.
Students are introduced to the whole practice team and are very much welcomed and encouraged to feel a valued member of the team.
In addition to the usual General Practice workload the practice runs extra services in a number of areas (including methadone prescribing, nail and other minor surgery and joint injections). Students will have a chance to experience all these services thus ensuring the widest possible introduction to life in a general practice.
The undergraduate teaching is headed up by Dr. Sebastian Pflanz with students spending time with all the doctors in the practice both in surgery and on home visits.
All the doctors have different special interests in the field of medicine. With students spending time with all the doctors this ensures teaching is delivered on the widest possible footing and students can get the best idea of the oppourtunities available within the speciality.
