It is important to leave this message as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel. This is because these vaccines have to be ordered as they are not stock items. Once the doctor has decided which vaccines you require, they will be ordered on prescription to be collected from The C0-0P Pharmacy on Dalbeattie High Street. You will then be contacted and asked to make an appointment with the practice nurse to administer the vaccines.

It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to pick up your vaccines from the pharmacy before your appointment and keep them in a fridge if it says so on the packet.

Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service. However, there is no charge for administration of the vaccines by practice staff.

Dalbeattie Clinic is a licensed Yellow Fever Centre. The cost of a yellow fever vaccination together with the vaccination certificate is £45.
